Man Bag Monday: Brad Goreski carries Louis Vuitton
We try and make it a point to do Man Bag Monday for one reason and one reason only – bags made for men can be every bit as stylish and beautiful as those made for women, and a lot of them are so nice that I wouldn’t think twice about carrying one. Androgyny is in! Just as Andrej Pejic.
And that’s what kept me so transfixed by these pictures that Vlad took of Brad Goreski outside of the Salvatore Ferragamo Resort 2012 show in New York a few weeks ago. His Louis Vuitton Keepall 45 Bandouliere could be carried by literally anyone and look chic.
For some reason, this bag has been playing tricks on me. Initially, I assumed it was one of Louis Vuitton’s men’s travel bags. But then, the size of the bag started making me second-guess myself, and I thought perhaps it was the biggest version of Sofia Coppola’s hugely successful leather bags for Vuitton. But the women’s bags come with a clochette instead of a luggage tag, which this satchel very clearly has, so perhaps the 45s just aren’t as big in real life as they are in my mind. For those hell-bent on traditional masculinity, this design is probably best left for use as an overnight bag or carry-on, but I think it works equally well as a bag to carry to the office. If the lady of the house doesn’t steal it first, that is. Buy through Louis Vuitton. I can’t tell which leather Brad’s bag is, but the Epi version sells for $1890.

Louis Vuitton Mon Monogram Service online
Louis Vuitton continues to expand their online store and have announced the introduction of the Louis Vuitton Mon Monogram service.
The service will allow you to customize your Louis Vuitton bag, ending up with over 200 million possible combinations on your bag of choice.
The selection of bags include the iconic Speedy, historic Keepall travel bag, or the Pegase 55 wheeled cabin case.
Once you choose your item you can pick up to three initials and vertical or diagonal stripes. There are 17 color options to choose from.
Once you have entered your selection the site will simulate the design for you to see what the finished product will look like.
Beyond the sheer enjoyment of trying out new ideas at a click, the easy-to-use Mon Monogram configurator allows users to save their settings in order to think about their choices for a while or consult a friend by email.
It also saves time should they later decide to order their design from a Louis Vuitton store.
Once they are satisfied with the Mon Monogram bag they have created, two options are available: they can order it on-line in countries with an e-shopping facility on their website (France, Italy, Germany, the UK, the US and Japan).
They can also print out the simulation and take it to a Louis Vuitton store offering the Mon Monogram service. Orders are delivered within eight weeks.

Damier Graphite Keepall 55 – GORGEOUS
As a male I don’t need nearly as many bags as Ms. Michaelrcks does so I just get two or three a year.
This will be my first purchase in 6 months and though it isn’t cheap, I trust LV for its style and quality.

Wow Kate! We know you’ve been around forever- and you’ve recently been through the ringer with relationships and all. You may have gotten your Keepall when you first got into the business. It has sentimental value- or whatever. But let’s think about this carefully:
The Louis Vuitton Monogram Keepall 55: a fantastic travel bag. I mean, this is a true duffle. You really can stuff it well, but it isn’t a hard case, so if you don’t pack it too full, you can use it as a carry on. This poor old bag has served her purpose. She looks so tired, poor thing. She needs to be retired- laid to rest in that comfortable spot on the top shelf at the back corner of your closet.

“Now that I have FINALLY traveled, I am happy to say that my Louis Keepall 55 has been put into good use. I can fit a LOT of stuff in there: clothes, toiletries, hats (I prefer to bring hats in my carry-on to avoid bending them in my check-in luggage), books, electronics, other mini purses (which I also don’t want to crease or bend up in my check-in), AND my laptop case (which is pretty bulky). That said, I am very thankful that I have the one with the shoulder strap, since it is an absolute necessity for the size of this bag and how much weight it can hold. It all depends on what you pack, however. I am not afraid to overstuff my Louis just because I know it won’t fail on me—such as ripping, tearing, or having the zipper break. (Come on, now!
